Due to the current restrictions in place for Covid-19, our Senior Centers are not serving congregate meals. Meals are being provided for take-out. Meals on Wheels are still being delivered. Please contact your local Senior Center for specifics.
We serve all adults over age 60 and their spouses, a hot, nutritious meal up to five days a week at our senior centers.
The meal not only assures at least one nutritious meal daily, but the interaction serves the individual’s social needs as well, providing a gathering place to meet friends, dance, play cards and bingo, etc. All meal sites are open to the public.
Lunches are served on the following days:
Monday through Friday in Baker City and La Grande;
11:30 am – 12:30 pm La Grande
11:30 am – 12:30 pm Baker City
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Enterprise and Wallowa;
11:30 am – 12:30 pm Enterprise
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Wallowa
Monday and Thursday in John Day;
Tuesdays in Monument;
Wednesdays in Prairie City;
Thursdays in New Bridge
12:00 pm – 12:20 pm
There is no charge to attend the senior meals program however a “suggested donation” would be very welcome. The senior meals program is supported by federal grants but the grants cover just 25% of the cost of the program. Fund raising, support from county government, and local donations are essential to continue the program.
